Cycling Evening at Oulton Park

Enjoy your Track Pass ride on the historic, silky smooth, Oulton Park circuit tarmac.

Then, the tension builds, for an “all out”, lung busting, Hot Lap competition.

The Event

  • 18:00-18:30
    The Kids Lap
    An opportunity for 7-15 year olds to experience the circuit and ride away from traffic and potholes. All road worthy bicycles allowed. The child must be able to complete the 2.7 mile lap within 30 minutes.
  • 18:30-19:30
    Track Pass Ride
    An hour long ride on the silky smooth tarmac. Your opportunity to recon your Hot Lap, or simply enjoy the historic circuit. Road bikes only. Age: 12+
  • 19:40-20:45
    The Hot Lap
    The "all out" Hot Lap competition. This is an individual, road bike time trial. Road bikes only. Age: 12+
  • 21:00-21:15
    Prize Presentation
    We crown our Hot Lap champions!

Every 10th of a second counts on a Hot Lap. This is why we use only the best in sports timing. A live results board will keep everyone informed of the current Hot Lap leaders.

The Rules

We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable evening, and a fair Hot Lap competition. Therefore, we have the following rules that will help the evening run smoothly.

General Rules

  • Road Bikes Only. Except for Kids Lap, where mountain bikes are permitted. All bikes must be roadworthy.
  • You must cycle the circuit in a clockwise direction.
  • You must cycle in a predictable and considerate manner.
  • No tri-bars/aero extensions.
  • No head down riding.
  • Helmets must be worn when cycling on the Oulton Park premises (EN 1078 safety standard).
  • Faster riders must pass on the right.

1 Hour Track Pass Ride Rules

  • No racing.
  • Groups must be no bigger than 25.
  • Age 12+.

The Hot Lap Rules

  • You must stop where instructed after your Hot Lap has been completed. Do not continue beyond the pit lane entry on to the circuit.
  • Age 12+.
